Residential Renewable Energy Tax Credit- This is a personal tax credit that allows a homeowner to get back 30% of the cost of equipment and labor for the installation of a Photovoltaic (PV) solar system, including an solar attic ventilation system, and a solar hot water heater. The solar hot water system must be certified by the SRCC. At least half of the properties hot water must come from solar. Program expires on 12/31/2016

State of Florida

Solar Energy Systems Equipment Sales Tax Exemption

This law allows consumers to buy PV, solar water heaters and solar pool heaters without sales tax.

City Of Longwood Florida

Raising Energy Efficiency Program (REEP)

Up to $500 per year (or up to 10% of project costs) rebate for the installation of solar panels, photovoltaic systems or solar water heaters. The rebate is for owner occupied residences only. Orlando Utilities Commission

The Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC), through its Pilot Solar Program, offers to purchase the environmental attributes or renewable energy credits (RECs) from customers who install a photovoltaic (PV) and/or solar thermal energy system on their property. Incentive payments are equal to $0.07/kWh for PV and $0.05/kWh for solar water heating (SWH) systems and appear in the form of a credit on customers’ monthly utility bills.*
