The City of Longwood, Florida has announced that beginning January 18th, 2012, it will be offering up to $500 a year rebate for homeowners who make energy efficient improvements. Improvements that qualify include;

As a part of its ongoing commitment to better the environment, Superior Solar Systems has joined Keep Seminole Beautiful. Keep Seminole Beautiful is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the natural beauty of Seminole County Florida through educational programs and clean-up projects. Among its activities are; anti-litter projects, river, retention pond & lake clean-ups, educational gardens, water conservation programs, recycling programs and community block grants.
FPL allocated all funds for the Solar Electric Portion of thier Solar Rebate Program/ Funds are still available for Solar Hot Water installations
Florida Power and Light (FPL) has allocated all of the funds for solar electric installations for residential and business. They will no longer accept any applications. If there are any unallocated funds after all of the applications are processed they may reopen the process on August 30,2011. Any applications not approved this year can apply for next years rebates in October 2011. Call Superior Solar Systems for details.
Florida Power and Light Delays Solar Rebate Program launch until June 29, 2011
Program delayed one week due to technical issues
FPL announced that it was delaying the launch of its $15.5 million dollar solar rebate program that was supposed to begin June 21, 2011. According to the FPL website the new launch date is set for June 29, 2011. Technical issues were cited as the cause for delay.

Florida Power and Light (FPL) announced its first solar program ever and received $15.5 million dollars from the Public Service Commission (PSC) for rebates on installation of solar water heating systems and solar electric systems (PV).

Superior Solar Systems recently completed work on an 80-kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) project for NASA’s Propellants North Administrative and Maintenance Facility at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The project included two photovoltaic roof systems and an electric vehicle charging canopy that is in the parking lot of the building.

Gainesville Regional Utility (GRU) reopens popular solar feed-in tariff program applications January 18-21, 2011.
Gainesville Regional Utility will be taking application for the states only feed-in tariff program for solar electric installations January 17-21. GRU initiated the first feed it Tariff program in the United States. GRU customers had just over 300 kilowatts of solar installed; now it has increased its solar kilowatts by 566% to 2000 kilowatts. The program is available to homeowners and businesses.
